I created a column, now I want to remove it and it will not delete

FastTrack Schedule 10 does not offer the ability to delete a column, and instead only offers the option to hide a column. This is because all custom columns exist in every file, whether they are used or not, the default is that they are just hidden. When hiding a column this will retain all of the data that has been entered so you can once again add it if you need to use it in the future.
To hide a column, right-click on the column header and select "Hide."
