When I consolidate several files into 1 file - the row color coding and text formatting from each individual schedule file does not carry over into the consolidated file - any idea how to fix this?

Row Colors and Styles (Outlines) are defined Per File. This means that when you consolidate multiple files they will default to the styles used in the blank file or template file that you consolidate into.
If all of your projects use the same Styles, for example all outline level 1 tasks are Font Size 14 and Bold, and the row is shaded light blue, then you would need to apply this as the outline in the Master File.
If your projects used different styles you would need to manually apply this for each row where the styling should appear.
